Miami University Coach's Profile
Miami Water Polo Head Coach - Doug Reisenfeld

Coach Reisenfeld began his coaching career in Miami, Florida in 1985. He was the Head Coach at Hialeah - Miami Lakes H.S., Miami Sunset H.S., and started the Miami Stingray Men and Women's Club team in 1990. He played for the North Miami Beach Men's team from 1985 - 1991, and played in 4 Senior Indoor National Final Fours during that time. Doug was the President of the Florida Water Polo Assoc. From 1989 - 1992. He also has an extensive swimming background as a member of the Cincinnati Marlins from 1969 - 1980, an Ohio H.S All-American from 1975 - 1979, swam for NC State in 1979-80, and for Indian River C.C. in 1980-81.

He came to Miami University in 1994. Originally approached by Dr. James Davis, the team founder and acting faculty advisor, the possibility for the club to have it's first Head Coach began to take shape. Dr. Jim asked the Club President, Brian Cyr and V.P., Todd Sarback to meet with Doug to see if he would like to coach the team. In all prior years, the team simply practiced on occasion and traveled to a few tournaments every season. One of these events included a MAC/Midwest Championship. During the meeting, the team representatives expressed the desire to act like a varsity team and compete in a regular season. They wanted to have a “real” season and establish a more organized program. After the meeting, Doug Reisenfeld became the Head Coach of the MWPC ( Miami Water Polo Club) in 1994.
