Oportunidades de SDP Nacional

•  The Premio Gabriela Mistral is an award that may be granted to an outstanding graduate or undergraduate student of Spanish who is an active member of Sigma Delta Pi. Honorary members are not eligible. Any active chapter may nominate one student per year for the Gabriela Mistral Award and shall send the nomination together with supporting documentation, including at least two letters of recommendation and a current transcript, to the Executive Secretary-Treasurer. Winners of the award will be given a certificate.

 

•  Summer Scholarship Programs

1) Nine scholarships for study in Spain: six at the Estudio Internacional Sampere (EIS) centers in Madrid, Salamanca, El Puerto de Santa María or Alicante; three at Enforex, Spanish Language Schools centers in Madrid, Marbella and Salamanca (one at each location). The EIS scholarships consist of free tuition for four to six weeks of study (20 hours per week); EIS will provide three of these scholarships. EIS winners must pay the cost of room and meals while in Spain . The Enforex awards will cover the cost of tuition for a four-week course of study, but winners must pay the cost of Enforex registration, room and meals while in Spain . Sigma Delta Pi will provide to the scholarship winners a stipend that may be used toward travel to Spain .

2) Two scholarships for study in Ecuador : one at the Estudio Internacional Sampere (EIS) in Cuenca ; one at the Academia Latinoamericana de Español in Quito . The EIS will provide one scholarship with free tuition for four to six weeks of study (20 hours per week). The Sampere winner must pay the cost of room and meals while in Cuenca . The Academia Latinoamericana awards will cover the cost of tuition, room and two meals per day for a four-week course of study. Sigma Delta Pi will provide to the scholarship winners a stipend which may be used toward travel to Ecuador .

3) Fourteen scholarships for study at the Universidad Internacional / The Center for Bilingual Multicultural Studies of Cuernavaca , Mexico . The amount of the scholarship will cover the cost of tuition, room, and meals for a four-week course of study. The Center for Bilingual Multicultural Studies will provide four of these scholarships. Sigma Delta Pi will provide to the scholarship winners a stipend which may be used toward travel to Mexico . Two of the scholarships provided by the Center must be used after July 31, 2005.

4) One scholarship for study in Peru ( Cuzco ) and one in Bolivia ( Sucre ) at the Academia Latinoamericana de Español . The Academia will provide free tuition, room and two meals per day for a four-week course of study. Sigma Delta Pi will provide to the scholarship winners a stipend which may be used toward travel to Peru and Bolivia .
