One More Soca

Spearheaded by director Chris Tanner and Producer Tom Miller, the disc’s nine selections feature crisp performances and a diverse approach to repertoire.

The recording includes compositions from masters of the genre like Miller and Trinidadian composer/arranger Ray Holman, as well as up-and-coming artists such as Tanner, Darren Dyke, and Phil Hawkins.  Pan Ramajay member Alan Lightner also contributes a sweet arrangement of his tune Give ‘im Up, which first appeared on the pan-jazz combo’s Back for More disc.

Produced by Tom Miller and Chris Tanner, this offering from the Miami University Steel Band features eight selections of varying styles. Guest artists include Miller and Cincinnati area marimbist and CCM faculty member Russell Burge. Works by Miller, Tanner, and renowned steel band composer Ray Holman make Burnin' a must have for steel band enthusiasts!
