Brad Wick will perform Tomasi's Trombone Concerto,
Kate Wilkin performing Walton's Viola Concerto
and Will Cicola perfoming Rossini's Introduction, Theme, and Variations for clarinet and orchestra.

On Our Global Rhythms Concert

The concert weaves in a range of music ranging from Slumdog Millionaire, the musical Lord of the Rings, Bollywood Hits, Latin Jazz, as well as diverse dance traditions. This evening that happens to fall on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi will feature hits of Oscar award winning composer AR Rahman that will be performed by several groups and includes an impressive line of guest artists from diverse world traditions including Latin Jazz, Middle Eastern music, Indian Classical Music, African and Caribean traditions. Miami's Symphony Orchestra will be prominently featured in a multimedia extravaganza under the direction of Ricardo Averbach.

In addition, other groups will perform such as the Miami University Gospel Singers directed by Brittany Moncrease, the Drumline directed by Jeff Queen and James Sparling, The Glee Club and Colleagiate Chorale directed by Ethan Sperry. Several guest artists including Latin Jazz greats Eguie Castrillo, Victor Mendoza, Tian Zhou ,Ying Zhang; Hongyan Liu from China, African Master drummer Paschale Younge, Drumline Virtuoso Jeff Queen, dancers from India, will be collaborating with various teams as well as other musical virtuosos including Chris Tanner, Roger Davis, Andrea Ridilla, Michele Gingras, Christie Schillinger, James Olcott, Bill Albin, Jaime Morales Matos and Mary Harris. The Artistic Director of the show is Miami Alum Srinivas Krishnan who is assisted by Miami Alum Susan Schroer.
