Miami University, founded in 1809, is the 7th oldest public college in the United States. Established 6 years after Ohio, Miami consistently ranks in the top 25 according to US News and World Report. There are regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, Ohio and the international campus is in Luembourgh however the main campus is in Oxford, Ohio.Their concentration on undergraduate education is always rated in the top 10 in the US and explains their lack of both a law and medical school. The business school is highly coveted and endowed by the founder of the Cintas Corp., also an alum.

The uptown business district which is directly attached to MU still has a cobblestone street. Five greek letter societies were founded at Miami giving it the name "Mother of Fraternities".
The Miami RedHawk athletic teams compete in NCAA Division I-A in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Countless professional athletes have emerged from MU including the founder of the Cincinnati Bangels and Cleveland Browns, Paul Brown.
