Funding Restrictions
& Violations
What
can't you use ASG funding for? First of all, you can't
use Administrative Funding for anything related to
an event. Administrative Funding is for administrative
tasks and Event Funding is for the specified event.
On top of that, funding cannot be used to:
1. Support or sponsor
ballot initiatives, candidates seeking election, or
other partisan political purposes; trying to sway
people is wrong, but informing** is okay.
2. Support or sponsor
political lobbying.
3. Support religious
rites, services, or attempts to convert people to
a certain religious faith.
4. Provide financial
support to off-campus organizations whose principle
purposes are political, religious, or ideological
in nature.
5. Purchase alcohol or
any product that violates University polices.
**Please note: ASG can
sponsor events with an educational purpose, such as
promoting discussion or debate from various perspectives,
but not overlapping the designated stipulations**
The Committee on Student
Organization Funding has the final say on whether
or not one of the aforementioned rules has been violated.
What happens if you violate one of the restrictions?
There's a minimum of a 5% reduction in your allocation
in the next Event Funding cycle, although the Committee
may recommend to the Student Senate that further action
be taken.
These restrictions do
NOT mean that an organization cannot hold an event
of this nature. If you do so, however, you must use
your own funds; however, no ASG funds may be used
to hold this event. Again, random audits will be performed
to prove ASG funds were not used.
