The Red Wolf Sanctuary and Raptor Rehabilitation Center is a non-profit organization begun by Paul Strasser in 1979. Located in the southeast portion of the State of Indiana, the sanctuary is home to a myriad of predators, including wolves, coyotes, mountain lions, bears, bobcats, foxes, and buffalo, as well as birds of prey. For more information about the sanctuary, check out the website at Red Wolf.
The naturalist club volunteers a weekend each semester to help out with repairs and projects such as building and repairing cages and fences. Each time we go there are new and exciting changes, and there is always a tremendous amount of knowledge to be learned from Paul. Sometimes it's hard to know who benefits from the weekend more, the animals or the volunteers!
