Shantytown
- What is it? We make our "shanty"
- What do we do? We have at least one person (preferrably more) around the clock and ask for donations
- When? To be announced
- Where? Phi Delt Gates
- For every hour you volunteer to sit, you get one hour of service hours
Habitat for Humanity's Shanty City
- What is it? Students make their own "shanty" to raise homelessness and poverty housing awareness.
- What do we do? The event is free and open to any student. Students will campout for the night in houses they design using cardboard boxes (“shanties”).
- When? On September 17th from 8pm to September 18th at 12pm
- Where? Central Quad
- How to Register? Contact Sam Murakami murakast@muohio.edu with your name, the name of your corridor, your student organization, or just you and a friend!
- Plus, prizes will be given for:
- “Clown Car” – Most People Fit into the Smallest Shanty.
- "Last Man Standing” – Highest attendance at the end of the night
- “Love Shack” – Best Duo working together at building their Shanty
- “Skyscrapper” – Tallest Shanty
- “Pimp My Shanty” –Most Accessorized Shanty
- “Spitting Image” – Best replica of Something Else
