Welcome!

Welcome to Miami University's student organization Engineering Students Abroad (ESA)! Our organization began in 2004 with the help of the International Project senior capstone team members Jeni Blacklock, Megan Chorey, and Kelly Gatta.

As stated in the Constitution, the objective of the Engineering Students Abroad organization is "... to help engineering students study abroad. Due to rigorous curriculums, it is very difficult for engineering students to get together a program for studying abroad while still being able to graduate on time." This organization will encourage engineering students to travel abroad by being a "club" through which students can exchange ideas about their study abroad experiences and desires.

Engineering students who have already studied abroad or who might have information about studying abroad will be able to promote their experiences and knowledge to younger engineering students who are interested in studying abroad. This organization will also allow engineering students to form social relationships with others having similar interests.

ESA Membership Benefits

In general, official membership into ESA is not required to attend meetings and take part in events. However, there are several advantages to becoming a member of the organization, including:

1. Becoming part of a study abroad support network

2. Notification of study abroad opportunities through means such as this website and the listserv

3. Potential funding by MU's Associated Student Government

4. Study abroad scholarships offered through the School of Engineering & Applied Sciences as well as other private sources

...... and many more! This organization is just starting, so many other future benefits are possible!
