There have been a number of changes to the Classified
Personnel Advisory Committee (CPAC) in terms of membership
and focus since this page was created. We now have a
seat on University Senate. This will give classified
staff a voice on important Senate committees like the
Fiscal Priorities Committee. We will also be working
hard to identify ways to strengthen CPAC's relationship
with classified SATSS employees in order to better represent
you.
Some of our ongoing goals include:
Improve CPAC's image with classified staff throughout
campus.
Improve the University community's perception of classified
staff.
Assist and encourage classified staff to get more involved
in the University, their department, and the community.
Encourage volunteerism as a way to give service to
the University and the communities where we live and
work.
CPAC may establish subcommittees to assist with studies.
Discover what is working well in the workplace at the
University and communicate those successes to encourage
motivation and improve morale.
Work with Administration to achieve goals through mutual
agreement and obtain the ear of the Administration to
listen to classified staff concerns.
Establish more effective channels of communication
between CPAC and the University.
Create an atmosphere of mutual respect, equality, and
voice between SATSS and SAMS staff members and between
classified staff and the University.
Some of the projects CPAC has planned include:
Establish open meetings and improve committee communication
with classified staff.
Develop and implement an employee orientation program
for new SATSS employees which will complement and enhance
existing programs.
Provide expanded professional development opportunities
and education of classified staff in use of electronic
services.
Continue efforts to obtain more classified staff representation
on University committees at the department, divisional
and university levels.
Subcommittees will be established as deemed necessary
by the CPAC committee.
