The third annual Women in Information Technology (WIT) Day sponsored by P&G, GE, and Convergys and Miami University, University of Cincinnati and Xavier University was held at P&G Mason Business Center on October 27. Approximately 20 young women from the MIS and CSA department attended this conference. The all day event had a variety of speakers including Mr. Doug Arthur from ATOS Origin, Ms. Judith Briggs from At Ease, Inc and the keynote speaker Pam Bernstein, Associate Dir of Initiative Mgmt. Services for P&G.
High school students had two sessions geared for them: "Computing Pathways – Choosing the Right Program " for which Dr. Cross served as a faculty panelist and "Making the Most of Your College Experience". College students attended sessions "Successfully Navigating the Corp. Landscape" and "Managing Diversity in the Workplace." At the wrap up of the event, drawings were held for 9 $500 gift certificates, one of which was won by our very own Phoebe Hyder! We would like to thank the Miami University's Women's Center for generously picking up the tab for the vans to take our students to WIT!
